1. Who we are

KAIA ("KAIA", "we", "us") is an AI accountability companion that you interact with via SMS/iMessage. This policy explains what we collect when you text KAIA and what we do with it.

2. Information we collect

  • Phone number — used to identify you and send/receive messages.
  • Message content — everything you send to KAIA, including text, images, and any personal details you choose to share.
  • Derived facts & memory — KAIA stores summaries of things you tell her (preferences, goals, reminders, people in your life) so she can remember context across conversations.
  • Usage metadata — timestamps, message counts, delivery status, and basic analytics to keep the service running.
  • Billing data — if you subscribe, our payment processor (Square) handles your payment details. We never see or store full card numbers.

3. How we use it

  • To respond to your messages and provide the KAIA service.
  • To send proactive check-ins, reminders, and follow-ups you've opted into.
  • To improve KAIA's responses, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers required to run KAIA:

  • Messaging delivery providers — to send and receive SMS/iMessage.
  • AI model providers — to generate responses. Message content is sent to them at inference time.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers — database, storage, and hosting.
  • Payment processors — to handle subscriptions and billing.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising.

5. Your choices

  • Text STOP at any time to opt out of all messages.
  • Email us to request a copy of your data or full deletion.
  • Cancel your subscription at any time from the manage page.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure — please don't share information with KAIA you wouldn't share with a trusted friend.

7. Children

KAIA is not intended for anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We don't knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the new policy.
